Que. A water falls from a dam on a turbine wheel 19.6m below,then velocity of Water at a turbine is ? (Take g = 9.8ms-²)

Solution with Explanation :-

 We have,

Height from which water falls on turbine(h) = 19.6m

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8ms-2

Initial velocity of water is zero because water falls on the turbine not thrown.

Now, by using 3rd equation of motion that is v² - u² =  2gh

Putting the value of u,g and h, we get

v² - 0² = 2×9.8×19.6

v² = (19.6)²

v = 19.6ms-1
